Homework Answers

Answer #1

Good fats: Monounsaturated(Omega 9) and Polyunsaturated fats(Omega 3 and 6). These are liquid at room temperature.

ex- Nuts, egg yolk etc.

Bad fats: Saturated and trans fat. These are liquid at room temperature.

ex- French fries, Hydrogenated oils etc.

a) Trans fat are so unhealthy because these are produced by partial hydrogenation and it converts liquid oils into solids. It increases LDL level and decreases HDL level hence responsible for heart diseases.

b) Healthy fats means food containing Monounsaturated and Polyunsaturated fats example - nuts, olive oil, dark chocolates etc. These reduces the risk of heart diseases and should replace Bad fat food in our diet. These reduces LDL level.
