  1. Consider two types of chips, say, chip1 and chip2. Chip1 uses a 24 cm diameter wafer with a cost of $3000, contains 360 chips, and has 0.010 defects/cm2. Chip2 uses a 32 cm diameter wafer with a cost of $3600, contains 480 chips, and has 0.0125 defects/cm2. Assume the process complexity (N) of 10 for both chips and wafer yield of 97.5%.
    1. Find chip-size (in side of the chip and area) and the corresponding die yields for both wafers.
    2. Find the cost per chip for both wafers.
    3. If the number of chips per wafer is increased by 10% and the defects per area unit increases by 12.5%, find the chip area and yield.
    4. Assume a fabrication process improves the yield from 0.85% to 0.90%. Find the defects per area unit for each version of the technology, given a die area of 300 mm2.
