Question

A plate is removed from an oven at temperature of 50◦C and placed in a large room at 20◦C . After 5 minutes the temperature of the plate is 40◦C . How much longer will it take to reach 30◦ ?

So far I think I have only learnt about Newton's Law of Cooling, so if the answer could be relative to that formula that would be helpful in my understanding.

1. A potato is removed from an oven with the temperature 350
degrees F. It is placed on a plate in a room with temperature 75
degrees F. After 5 minutes, the potato has a temperature of 240
degrees F. When will the potato be 85 degrees F?

The rate of change of the temperature of an object is proportional to the difference between the temperature of the object and the temperature of the environment (Newton's Law). In addition, heat flows from the warm to the cold.
Water is boiled in a saucepan and then removed from the heating element, so that the initial temperature of the water is 100 degrees Celsius, while the temperature of the room is 20 degrees Celsius and will be assumed to be...

A thermometer is removed from a room where the temperature is
23° C and is taken outside, where the air temperature is −10° C.
After one-half minute the thermometer reads 12° C. What is the
reading of the thermometer at
t = 1 min?
(Round your answer to two decimal places.)
= ° C
How long will it take for the thermometer to reach −8° C? (Round
your answer to two decimal places.)
= min

500g of water at temperature of 15°C is placed in a
freezer. The freezer has a power rating of 100W and is 80%
efficient.
1- Calculate the energy required to convert the water
into ice at a temperature of -20°C.
2- How much energy is removed every second from the air
in the freezer?
3- How long will it take the water to reach a
temperature of -20°C?
4- Explain the process that cools the air in the
freezer.
