At the same time, a world-wide survey of almost 350 companies showed that 87% of respondents said that their ideal costing system would include some form of ABC. What are some of the reasons that explain why so many companies say that ideally they would use ABC, but haven’t yet adopted it ?

The application of ABC system is very expensive,and all companies cannot afford the cost of implementing ABC in their firm.It is difficult to justify an expenditure for the system that can apply the overhead cost very accurately.it is very difficult to find out the actual cost of ABC analysis to be incurred like other casual activities in a business.and some arbitrary allocation may continue there.

because of such reasons , companies are not ready to fully implement ABC in their organisation.
