Dangers:

1)If such targets are almost impossible then the employee may involve in unethical practices like low quality material etc to stay in budget which inturn may lead to loss of Goodwill in the customer.

2)It is highly risk taking as there are chances for demotivating the employee spirits and especially they may lead to present fake details to avoid punishments.
