Hi Bert!:) I agree with the guy who said boric acid. I just finished putting it down on these fire ant hills around our house. It is a much more natural and safer alternative to the toxic chemicals used to poison ants. Anyway, take some dish washing liquid, the cheapo kind and pour it on the ant hills. Use the hose to soap it down real good making it nice and soapy. This will kill those on the surface. Pour boric acid on the rest of the ant hill so they can take it down and to the rest of the ants underground and to kill them. The brand I use is called Safer ant killer. I get it at Ace hardware store.
Hope you make a dent in that ant problem! God bless!:)
