What are the effects of ADHD within sociaty for children and their families?

Isolation for one, depending on how those in your environment respond to the condition. Because there is a misconception ADHD is just about an "out of control" child, with just behavioural problems. Mostly due to people thinking the condition is down to poor parenting.
Families with a child or children with the diagnosis of ADHD quickly learn they have to be pro active in supporting their child and educating those around them, as well as continually educating themselves with Education systems, medication, diet, behaviour and learning disability developments.
Children with ADHD are part of the Autistic Spectrum Disorder, they usually have a dual diagnosis alongside the ADHD, it could by dyslexia, autism or another within the spectrum. Medication for ADHD is a tool in management of the condition but there is no cure, and more often than not the secondary diagnosis is not given the same attention or support as the first.
Families struggle, watching their child. Doctors specialising in ADHD are limited. Society needs to appreciate to all intends and purpose these children look "A" ok, but I was told by a parent of a severely disabled child. My job was tougher than hers, you could see her child's disability, she managed 10 Min's looking after my son before she asked for help.
My son is my full-time job, Id love to go back to my career, if society doesn't start to truly understand the condition, I don't ever see that happening.
