If you just want to draw lines with the mouse, then use the Drawing facilities built within MS-Excel.
From the Ribbon, go to the INSERT tab, and in the ILLUSTRATIONS section choose SHAPES. You will see several LINES types available, where the last choice is for SCRIBBLE. That will allow you to draw just like it was a pen or pencil in your hand.
