What are some of the common problems that you come across when sharing the road with motorcyclists and car drivers?

1) Passing very close to me (mirrors can break bones at speed)
2) Cutting across in front of me & putting on break to make right turn. It makes me have to break & being safe & patient would have cost them 3 seconds, max.
3) When I stop at a red light, the person behind me will try to force me to move so they can turn right. I am to be treated like a car (and obey laws like a car). Would you honk @ a car in front @ a red light because you have to turn?
4) Trying to squeeze in front of me @ a stop.
5) Yelling at me to get on the sidewalk (see #3)

These are always cars & trucks. Motorcyclists are cool (they have to deal with idiots in cars too). I had a guy on a motorcycle pull up next to me at a light once. I looked at him & said "Wanna race?", he laughed & said "I was gonna ask you the same thing."

I commute 20 miles one way 4x a week on a mountain bike (roads would destroy a road bike).

For the people saying I shouldn't be on the road, I say check your laws. Most places require cycle commuters to be in the road and obey traffic laws as if they were a car. The most dangerous place for bikes is the sidewalk (every 50' you have to cross traffic) and bike paths next to the road (many get hit where they have to cross the road). Being in the road is the safest place to be as long as both the cyclist & drivers follow the rules & pay attention to each other. Lights & helmets are very important. Pedestrians who don't look (they figure everyone must stop for them) are probably more dangerous in the city than most cars.
