I see these amazing shows about sunken ships. I would love to be part of that, so what type of science would I major in?

Does NATGEO employ scientists, or only photographers?

They employ scientists.
You have a couple of options: Either Marine Biology, or Marine Archaeology. Both would get you out on the water, but Marine Archaeology would help you to go about discovering sunken ships and their cargo.
You;ll need to start with a Bachelor's degree in either Biology or Anthropology (perhaps you could major in one and minor in the other?) and then go on for a graduate degree- it is at that point that you would add the "marine" qualifier to your degree.
