I'm raising money for Japanese Tsunami Appeal at my school, can I put the money into my bank account?

How do I do it? Do I put the money (including lots of pound coins) into my bank account, because I'll have to send the British Red Cross a cheque? Will the bank be ok with me giving them a lot of pound coins?

You can. But it would be far better to get the bank to make the payment direct to one of the organisations.
