Will a lava lamp ever go back to normal aka not cloudy and cruddy?

Lava lamp sat in box for 1 year got cloudy and theirs like brownish wax at top lil bit brownish wax on bot so can my lava lamp ever go back to normal because in the cloudyness i can see a blob going up and down

the brown stuff may actually just be rust from the tin cap..you may have to change the oil (more trouble then its worth) throw it away n get a new one.
