I am following the exact same connection that I did with my other tv, but it doesn't work. I've tried different input options, changing to channel 4 and I still just get snow. Do I need a special cable or connector? Thank you.

Try channel 3

The old hookups required what was called a "3-4 switch". Many of the newer platforms require you to use the "HDMI" platform when hooking up to a digital (HDTV) set.

My PS3 requires that I use HDMI and NOT the old "video" options.

Hope this helps---
