Well all religious Jews are waiting for the messiah. The only difference is that the messiah hasn't been here before (unless you're into the Rebbe, but that's a different story).
The problem with the concept of Messianic Jews is that there's no objective criteria to define who is and is not a Jew. They thus can claim they're Jewish even though by most definitions they aren't. I, as well as most answerers apparenty, don't consider "Messianic Jews" Jews, more like back-to-roots Christians.
This may surprise you, but there are actually "Messianic Jews" in Israel; I remember once I received a pamphlet in my mailbox that listed all the supposed proofs of Christianity in the old Testament. So there ya go.
