How can i swim faster? (Currently on swim team, JV)?

Right now, I think I am the slowest person on my team. I am lazy, and I only push myself during my meets only (So far from the beggining of the season my 50 free has been from 48-36 seconds) I want to get faster and get on to varisty next year. I know I have to give up junk food and sodas, and go to every practice. But really what should I do to work out? I already know the best way is swim 2 hours in the moning, and 2.5 in the afternoon and weights 3 times a week, what else can I do? I feel that alone would not help me get to a faster time, to varisty.

I dont know much about high school swimming but I am a state champ and I am only 11 and I am one of the fastest on my team I have been swimming 6 years
push yourself in pracrise I was one of the worst swimmers in the first three years because I would never push myself it made it so I was on the verge of quitting but then I decided to start pushingg myself in swimming and it helped my 50 free is down to a 29.49 which is really fast and even more amazing is my breaststroke which is a 36.00 in th 50
and 2.47 in the 200 and I am having a lot of fun push yourself in practise and afterwards have a lot of protein suc as a protein bar or energy shake
also find a year round swim club it makes you a lot better if you are swimming more often
also at swimmeats don't pig out on the concessions and sleep a lot the day before
If it is on a school day get out of school a little early so you can go home and rest
make shure to shake out before the event (litterally shake your arms and legs it helps the muscles)
and then afterwards get an egg or a protein bar and go lay down agan
if you are one of the people who only swims one event use up all of your energy try breathing three or four times out of the whole thing I have gotten myself down to three
hold your breath untill you feel like you are going to pass out then take a breath
kick as hard as you can if your legs dont feel like rubber at the end you didnt kick hard enough
but remember that the best thing to do is to work hard in practise
