H0: p = 0.50

Ha: p > 0.50 (Claim)

Sample proportion = 400 / 806 = 0.4963

Test statistics

z = - p / sqrt( p( 1 -p) /n )

= 0.4963 - 0.50 / sqrt( 0.50 * 0.50 / 806)

= -0.21

This is test statistics value.

Critical value at 0.05 level is 1.645.

Since test statistics value < 1.645, we do not have sufficient evidence to reject H0.

That is we fail to reject null hyputhesis.

We conclude that,

There is not sufficient evidence to warrant the rejection of the claim that the majority of adults

prefer window seat when they fly.
