Answer #1

Solution:

Given that,

12,10,13,3,4,6

n=6

The mean of sample is

x/n =  (12 + 10 + 13 + 3 + 4 + 6 /6 )

   = 48/ 6

= 8

The sample mean is 5.2

Sample standard deviation is s

s = 1/(n-1)(x - )2

=  1/6-1 (12 - 8 )2+ (10 - 8 )2+ (13 - 8 )2+ (3 - 8)2 +( 4 - 8 )2+( 6 - 8 )2

= 1/5 (16+4+25+25+16+4)

= 90/5

= 18

= 4.24264068

=4.2 (rounded)

The sample standard deviation is 4.2
