1. For a standard normal distribution, find:
P(z > -1.73)
2. For a standard normal distribution, find:
P(1.98 < z < 2.09)
3. For a standard normal distribution, given:
P(z < c) = 0.6648
Find c.
Thank you
Solution :
1 ) P(Z > - 1.73 )
= 1 - P(Z < -1.73)
Using standard normal table
To see the z value - 0.1 in the column and 0.73 in the row of the
standard normal table the corresponding probability is
1 - 0.0418
= 0.9582
Probability =0.9582
2 ) P(1.98 < z < 2.09)
= p ( z < 2.09 ) - p (z < 1.98 )
Using standard normal table
= 0.9817 - 0.9761
= 0.0056
Probability = 0.0056
3 ) P(z < c) = 0.6648
P(Z < c) =0.6648
To see the probability in the standard normal table the
corresponding c value is ,
c value = 0.43
c = 0.43
