Use the given confidence interval to find the margin of error and the sample proportion. (0.784,0.808)

Homework Answers

Answer #1

solution:

Given Confidence interval is ( 0.784 , 0.808 )

Let (a , b) =  ( 0.784 , 0.808 )

i) Margin of Error

The Margin of Error is half the width of Confidence interval

Margin of Error = (b - a ) / 2 = ( 0.808 - 0.784) / 2 = 0.024 / 2 =0.012

So, the Margin of Error = 0.012

ii) Sample proportion

The Sample proportion is the Centre of Confidence interval

   Sample proportion = ( a + b) / 2 = (0.784 + 0.808) / 2 = 1.592 / 2 = 0.796

So , the Sample proportion = 0.796
