p approaches 1.00

b.

p approaches 0.50

c.

p approaches 0

d.

sample size increases

Answer #1

Solution :

The standard error of the sample proportion is given as follows :

Where, p is population proportion and n is sample size.

The value of the p ranges from 0 to 1.

The value of the standard error will gets larger if the numerator of the above given formula gets larger . And the numerator will get larger if p approaches to 0.50. Hence, the standard error of the sample proportion gets larger as p approaches to 0.50.

Hence, option (b) is correct.
