if we have an average of 4.8 cookies per day and sigma equals 1.2, how many people in a group of 100 would eat more than or equal to 3 cookies a day

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Solution :

Given that ,

mean = = 4.8

standard deviation = = 1.2

P(x 3 ) = 1 - P(x   3)

= 1 - P[(x - ) / (3 - 4.8) /1.2]

= 1 -  P(z -1.5 )

= 1 - 0.0668 = 0.9332

probability = 0.9332*100 = 93.32 = 93.

Answer = 93 people .
