Answer #1

Solution :

Given that,

= 69% = 0.69

1 - = 1 - 0.69 = 0.31

Margin of error = E = 5% = 0.05

At 96% confidence level the z is ,

= 1 - 96% = 1 - 0.96 = 0.04

/ 2 = 0.04 / 2 = 0.02

Z/2 = Z0.02 = 2.054

Sample size = (  Z/2 / E)2 * * (1 - )

= (2.054 / 0.05)2 * 0.69 * 0.31

= 360.97 = 361

Sample size = n = 361

361 people were surveyed .
