Answer #1

Solution:

Rounding Rule:

Suppose if we want to round a number to k decimal places, then we look at (k+1)th digit after decimal.

If this digit is  5 or more than 5, ( that is: 5,6,7,8 or 9) , then we round up number.

if this digit is less than 5 ( that is: 0,1,2,3,4) , then we round down the number.

For example if we have to round number to 3 decimal places, then we look at 4th digit after decimal.

i) 1.2457

fourth digit after decimal = 7 > 5 , thus we round up this number.

1.246

ii) 1.2452

fourth digit after decimal = 2 < 5 , thus we round down this number.

1.245

Thus we have number = 0.918795

Fifth decimal number is 9 > 5 , hence we round up number.

0.9188

There is another way:

fourth and fifth digits are 79 which is close to 80 than 70, thus we round this fourth and fifth digits to 80

that is:
0.91880

0.9188
