A coffee manufacturer is interested in the coffee drinking habits of Regular and Decaffeinated coffee drinkers. A random sample of 50 regular-coffee drinkers showed a mean of 4.35 cups per day. A sample of 40 decaffeinated-coffee drinkers showed a mean of 5.84 cups per day. Assume the population standard deviation for those drinking regular coffee is 1.2 cups per day and 1.36 cups per day for those drinking decaffeinated coffee. At the .01 significance level can we conclude that the mean daily consumption of regular-coffee drinkers is less than that of decaffeinated-coffee drinkers.

1. State the Null and Alternate Hypothesis(H0, H1).

2. Determine the level of significance.

3. Determine the test statistic. (z or t)

4. State the decision rule.(Reject H0 if)

5. Conduct the test and make a decision.(Include Formula and show all work)

6. Interpret the results.
