Answer #1

Hair color (black , white , brown etc) , Sex (male or femaale) , Marital status( married or unmarried) is a qualitative variable . And it is a nominal scale of measurement . It is a categorical variable .

Grade of student (A,B,C,D,F) , Communication skill of teacher (excellent, good , fair) Five grades are there , in which grades A is the highest and D is the lowest rank and for teachers there are 3 possible option either excellent or good or fair . So an ordering is done in both the cases . So the level of measurement is ORDINAL .

Jenny has two scales for measuring weights in a chemistry lab. Both scales give answers that vary a bit in the repeated weighings of the same item. The true weight of compound A is 2.00 grams. The first scale in the chemistry lab produces readings where the mean of compound A is 2.00 grams with a standard deviation of 0.03 grams. The second scale’s readings have a mean of 2.001 grams and a standard deviation of 0.001 grams. (a) Explain...

A Correlation Coefficient is a measurement of the relationship between two variables. A positive correlation means that as one variable increases, the second variable increases too. A negative correlation means that as one variable increases, the second variable decreases, or as one variable decreases, the second variable increases. Positive and negative correlations exists in nature, science, business, as well as a variety of other fields. Please watch the following video for a graphical explanation of the correlation coefficient: For Discussion...
