Suppose that you want to decide whether last year’s mean cheese consumption is greater than the 2010 mean. The preliminary research indicated that population standard deviation is known to be 6.9 lb. Suppose that you decide to use a z-test with 10% level of significance and a sample size of 65.

(1) Find the power if in fact the last year’s mean cheese consumption is 36.2 lb.
(2) Find the power if in fact the last year’s mean cheese consumption is 33.7 lb.
(3) Use results from (1) & (2) above to interpret the relationship between true mean and power.
