The objective of the the sociologists is to analyze the data and not to find or inflate any type of errors.

This can be achieved by followin steps:

Step 1:

The data file is in raw data form. The raw data can be arranged in the form of Frequency Distribution giving frequencies for the various class intervals.

Step 2:
Once frequency distribution is formed, the same can be depicted in graphical displays: Frequency, polygon, histogram, bar chart, pie chart etc. so that visually one can see how the data is dispersed.

Step 3:

Measures of Central Tendency (Mean, Median, Mode), measures of Dispersion (Range, Standard Deviation, Variance), Skewness and Kurtosis can be studied on the data.

By following the above steps, the data set can be analyzed.
