Consider the following hypotheses. Upper H0: p equals = 0.67 Upper H1: p ≠ 0.67 Given that p = 00.53, n = 100 100, and α = 0.05, answer the following questions. a. What conclusion should be drawn? b. Determine the p-value for this test. c. Determine the critical value(s) of the test statistic

Answer #1

Solution :

= 0.53

n = 100

P0 = 0.67

1 - P0 = 0.33

Test statistic = z

= - P0 / [P0 * (1 - P0 ) / n]

= 0.53 - 0.67 / [(0.67 * 0.33) / 100]

z = -2.98

= 0.05

/ 2 = 0.05 / 2 = 0.025

Z/2 = Z 0.025 = +/-1.96

Critical values are : -1.96 , +1.96
