We know that the total number of minutes in a day, TM= 1440

Odds that we land on 7:15 am or 7:15 pm= probability of falling on 7:15 am or pm / probability of not falling on 7:!5 am or pm

= (2/1440) / (1438/1440)

= 2/1438

= 0.001390821

b.

Probability of falling on 7:15 am or pm

= 2/1440

= 0.001388889

We are using 2 in the denominator because 7:15 occurs for 2 minutes (7:15 am and 7:15 pm) in an entire day out of the total 1440 minutes.

(Thus, the odds are higher than the probability)
