What happens if you take independent samples test instead of paired test?

Answer #1

Data are organized by pairs (every patient is associated to two measurements).
Suppose data consist of insulin rate of 60 patients before an after medical treatment. Here one single patients has two outcome which is dependent on each other. So in this case paired two-sampe t-test is appropriate.
The paired sample t-test used to determine whether the mean difference between two sets of observations is zero. In a paired sample t-test, each subject is measured twice times so it resulting in two pairs of observations. But when you used independent sample t-test on the same dataset then it treated two outcome independently. Which doesn't give a best idea about effect of treatment. It only test is there any significant differences between two sample.
So independent sample t-test affect major on dependent dataset.
