A horse breeder is interested in improving her herd for the gait of trotting. She is considering two stallions, and she would like your help in deciding which one of the two stallions to purchase. Herd average for trot score in her herd is 5.5 (assume average across both males and females). Heritability of trot score is 0.34 and repeatability is 0.45. Information available for each stallion includes the following. Stallion A: 8 individual competition records with scores averaging 8.0 Stallion B: Single competition records for 12 progeny with scores averaging 7.0 (YOU MUST SHOW WORK!!!!!)

a) Determine estimated breeding values and accuracies for each stallion. (MUST SHOW WORK)

b) Indicate the expected next progeny record for each stallion. (MUST SHOW WORK)

c) Recommend to the breeder which of the two stallions she should purchase. (MUST SHOW WORK)
