ANSWER IN COMPUTER
Student Instructions:
Gives five (5) examples, different of the ones that are in Module 5, of several discrete random variable and explain why they have to be whole numbers.
5 examples of discrete random variables:
1.) If a coin is flipped to count the number of tails which could be any integer value within 0 and +infinity. However, it can take any number between 0 and infinity, it would not get 3.5 tails. Therefore, it is a discrete variable since the discrete variable cannot take on all the values within the defined range.
2.) The number of siblings a person have is a discrete variable because there would not be an infinite number of siblings, quite naturally. Also, it cannot be 1.5 siblings.
3.) Similarly, a baby's age in months is a discrete variable.
4.) The number of red marbles in a jar. As the number of red marbles in a jar will always be a whole number.
5.) The number of students present in a class. As the number of students will always a whole number.
