in general what is a problematic with a very low response rate

Answer #1

Lack of response to the set of questions or questionnaire by potential respondents in a sample or population known as nonresponse bias. Nonresponse bias is a deathly blow to both the trusty or reliability and plausibility of survey study findings. If a survey attains only a 30% response rate, then the study agonizes from a nonresponse bias of 70%. Non-response bias is the fallacy resulting from definite differences between the people who responded to a survey versus the people who did not respond. The greater or higher the response rate of a survey, the further down or lower will be the risk of non-response bias. This is the general problem with a very low response rate.
