Ms. Frazier chooses two students to come to the board from a class of 8 boys and 12 girls. What is the probability that she will select a girl student first and a boy student second?

Given that the number of boys and girls in a class is as follows:

Number of boys = 8

Number of girls = 12

Then we conclude that the total number of students in the class= 20 students.

Then, the probability of choosing a girl first = number of girls / total number of students in the class = 12/20

The probability of choosing the 2nd boy = number of remaining girls / number of all students minus the chosen girl = 8/19

Then , the probability of choosing 1st girl and boy students second is :
= 12/20 * 8 /19
= 96/380
= 0.2526

The probability that select a girl student first and a boy student second is 0.2526.
