In following summary we have given why a sample is generally more practical than a census.

As per definition sample is some part of census or say population .

This sub part is selected such a that it will be good representative of

Population and it is proven by mathematical proof.

If we are getting same information as we will get in whole population then it is not required to study whole population since it is not practical because of

1)size of population.

2) It is time consuming.

3) It is cost consuming since need more resources to gather information of whole population.

And some time even it is not possible to study whole population due to other / unknown constraints.
