If a deck of playing cards are dropped and only 46 of them are found, show that among the found cards, there are three suits whose total number of cards is less than 35.

Answer #1

Since In standard deck of cards there are total 52 cards and there are total 4 suits.

That is each suit has 13 cards, That is each suit is (1/4)th of total cards

Here, In this situation we found only 46 cards.

Since each suit is (1/4)th of total cards, so for three suits it is (1/4)+(1/4)+(1/4)= (3/4)

So therefore for three suits whose total number of cards is

= (3/4)*46 = 34.5 which is less than 35

Hence among total number of found cards there are three suits whose total number of cards is less than 35.
