What is a significance level?

The level at which statistics finally become meaningful to a stein.

The impact that reporting statistics incorrectly could have.

A pre-set level of probability that the results are correct.

A pre-set level of probability at which it will be accepted that results are due to chance or not.

Answer #1

The probability of rejecting null hypothesis when it is true is called level of significance also called as Type I error.

Since the type I error is more serious we set it and then conduct the hypothesis tst.

This means if we reject the null hypothesis and conclude that the alternative hypothesis is true but there is some chances that the null hypothesis is true even the sample data support alternative hypothesis.

So that the correct choice is " A pre-set level of probability at which it will be accepted that results are due to chance or not."
