Question 1
A bank branch has two automatic teller machines (atms) that are accessible at all times (even when the branch is closed).
Customers arrive at the ATMs at a rate of 30 customers per hour with exponentially distributed interarrival times.
Each customer spends an average of 3 minutes to complete the service, where service time is also exponential.
When the branch is open, arriving customers refuse to join the ATM queue if it has 3 people or more waiting, and instead go to receive service
from human tellers.
On the other hand, when the branch is closed, customers have no choice but to join the queue regardless of its length

Q2
when the branch is open the probabilit that both ATMs are idle is (use three decimal places )

Q3
When the branch is open, find the fraction of customers that refuse to join the atm queue (use three decimal places )

Q4
When the branch is open, find the average queue length (use three decimal places )

The National Bank, like most other large banks, found that using automatic teller machines (ATMs) reduces the cost of routine bank transactions. National installed an ATM in the corporate offices of the Fun Toy Company. The ATM is for the exclusive use of Fun's 615 employees. After several months of operation, a sample of 100 employees revealed the following use of the ATM machine by Fun employees in a month: Number of Times ATM Used Frequency 0 20 1 30...

1. Willow Brook National Bank operates a drive-up teller window that allows customers to complete bank transactions without getting out of their cars. On weekday mornings, arrivals to the drive-up teller window occur at random, with an arrival rate of 6 customers per hour or 0.1 customers per minute. Also assume that the service times for the drive-up teller follow an exponential probability distribution with a service rate of 54 customers per hour, or 0.9 customers per minute. Determine the...

An insurance company has one adjuster in the branch office. People with claims against the company are found to arrive in a Poisson fashion during an 8 to 5 workday. Determine the hourly service and arrival rates using an 8-hour workday. The amount of time that the adjuster spends with a claimant is exponentially distributed. Claimants are processed in the order of their arrival. You are the manager of this branch and you wanted to investigate service provided by your...
