Answer #1

Answer:

The simple moving average (SMA) is the most basic of the moving averages and the simple moving average model is based on the assumption that an simple average is a good estimator of future price movement. It is simply the average price over the last N periods.

Where,

  • Ft = Forecast for the coming time period
  • N = Number of periods to be averaged
  • At-1 = Actual occurances in the past period for up to "n" period

Reseachers can use simple moving averages in

  • Trading systems to reflect trends in the stock market
  • In Research field, simple moving average method can be used to determine or provide the best estimate of the LC50 value along with its confidence interval.
  • It can be used as a Demand Forecasting technique

Consider a Simple Moving Average or a Weighted Moving Average.  Which of the following statements is NOT correct? A. The weighted moving average is a more powerful method than the simple moving average because of the ability to vary the weights. B. The weights in a weighted moving average model can be chosen based on past demand data C. If the actual demand data has a trend, the weighted moving average can better capture the trend, while the simple moving average...

Most researchers use the convenience sample because it is the easiest one to use. One of the biggest challenges of convenience sampling is that the results cannot be generalized. This means that studies that use convenience samples are often initial studies and then other studies have to be done to see if the results can be generalized or not.
