Part A In a survey to examine the effect of computer literacy on internet usage in an organization the data were recorded for each of the 113 responses.

Required: For each of the responses, state whether it’s qualitative data or quantitative data. If it's qualitative, also state whether it's nominal or ordinal data. If it's quantitative, also state whether it's discrete or continuous data. You must give reasons for each answer.

  1. Educational level( high school, diploma, bachelor degree, master degree)
  2. Sector of organization (Manufacturing, Service, Other)
  3. Time spent per day using the internet ( in hours)
  4. Computer literacy self-report (rated on a scale of 1 to 5 with 1=low, 5=very high.)
  5. The gender of the applicant
  6. The number of dependent children that the applicant has
  7. The applicant's monthly income in dollars.
  8. The applicant's credit rating (scored 1,2,3,4,5) based on the head hunter's subjective judgement.

Part B Three students, A, B, and C begin a course in Statistics. The pass rate for students taking the course is 70%.

  1. Draw a tree diagram
  2. Determine the probability that all 3 students passed.
  3. Determine the probability that 2 of the students passed.
  4. Determine the probability that 1 student passed.

Note: To indicate that a student fails, use the appropriate letter followed by the subscript “f”, so for example, Af, represents that A fails.
