Answer #1

Solution:-

Given that,

mean = = 25 days

standard deviation = = 7 days

1) Using standard normal table,

P(Z < z) = 45%

= P(Z < z) = 0.45

= P(Z < -0.13) = 0.45

z = -0.13

Using z-score formula,

x = z * +

x = -0.13 * 7 + 25

x = 24.09

x = 24 days

2) Using standard normal table,

P(Z < z) = 8%

= P(Z < z) = 0.08

= P(Z < -1.41) = 0.08

z = -1.41

Using z-score formula,

x = z * +

x = -1.41 * 7 + 25

x = 15.13

x = 15 days
