Answer #1

Solution :

is np0 (1-p0) = 150 * 0.47 * 0.53 = 37.365 ≥ 10

Yes

This is the left tailed test .

The null and alternative hypothesis is

H0 : p =0.47

Ha : p < 0.47

= x / n = 63 / 150 = 0.42

Test statistic = z

= - P0 / [P0 * (1 - P0 ) / n]

= 0.42 - 0.47 / [(0.47 * 0.53) / 150]

= -1.227

P-value = 0.1009

reject the null hypothesis because the P-value is greater than x.
