Answer #1

a) What is the probabililty that neither friend is picked as a juror

total number of ways of selecting 12 juros = 30C12

now since neither friend is picked

we have ot select 12 jurors from 30-2 = 28

hence number of ways = 28C12

hence required probability= 28C12 /30C12

b) number of ways that both friends are picked = 28C10   {28 others and 12-2 =10 }

hence required probability = 28C10/30C12

c)

what is the probability that only one of the friends is picked as juror

number of ways = 2C1 * 28C11   {2C1 for selecting 1 friend and remaining 11 will be selcted from 30-2 =28}

hence required probability = 2*28C11/30C12
