we have to find the probabilty that the less than the two free throws = P(X <2)

it is given that the each throw is independent of each other. so using binomial distribution formula as folows:

P(X <2) = P(X = 0) + P(X = 1)

P(X <2 ) = 0.0003 + 0.0064 = 0.0067 = 0.007             (rounding to three decimal)
