The cases for the following equation are the states of the United States. Quality of Life = 5.37 - .01Temp + .05Income +.003SocialServices - .01Population. Let’s pretend that the Temperature in North Dakota is 30 degrees and the temperature in Texas is 80 degrees (on average). Now let’s assume that there aren’t any variables that were left out of the equation (i.e., no other variables affect Quality of Life). Is it safe to assume that the quality of life in North Dakota is half a point worse than the quality of life in Texas? Please explain why or why not.
It is not safe to assume that the quality of life in North dakota is half a point worse than the quality of life in Texas because this result was achieved based on the temperature result only whereas there are other factors which affect the quality of life like Income, Social Services and Population which are not taken into consideration and the second reason is that Texas' quality of life was half a point better than North Dakota because of its temperature of 80 degrees and by looking at the average temperature of Texas and North Dakota you can see that the quality of life in North Dakota should be better because of the average temperature since a place which has a lower average temperature(30 degrees for North Dakota compared to 80 degrees for Texas) should have better quality of life
