There are two bags full of balls, and bag A has 18 red balls, 15 blue balls and 17 green balls, while bag B has 10 red balls, 18 blue balls and 22 green balls. A ball from each bag is randomly drawn. What is the probability that you get red from Bag A and Blue from bag B?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Total number of balls in bag A = 18 +15 +17 = 50

Number of red balls = 18

Number of blue balls = 15

Number of green balls = 17

Total number of balls in bag B = 10 +18 +22 = 50.

Number of red balls = 10

Number of blue balls = 18

Number of green balls = 22

Consider the events

A ; To draw red ball from bag A

P ( A) = 18/50.

B : To draw blue ball from bag B

P(B) = 18/50

We have to draw one ball from each bag.

P ( Getting red ball from bag A and blue balls from B) =

Since events A and B are independent to each other.

= (18/50) * (18/50)

=0.1296

P ( Getting red ball from bag A and blue balls from B) = 0.1296.
