Answer #1

The steps for deriving the mean and standard deviation are as follows :

Step1 : Enter the data in the Excel.

Step 2 : Now for mean, enter " Average(A1:A51) " function in any other cell and press ok, we get the following results :
Mean = Average(A1:A51) = 10.704

Step 3 : Now for standard deviation, enter "STDEV.P(A1:A51)" for deriving the population standard deviation and enter "STDEV.S(A1:A51)" for deriving the sample standard deviation.
Standard deviation = STDEV.P(A1:A51) = 8.0399.

Standard deviation = STDEV.S(A1:A51) = 8.1215.

We wish to determine the impact of Specification Buying, X11, on Satisfaction Level, X10. To do so we will split the Hatco data file into two separate data sets based on the Specification Buying, X11. This variable has two categories: 1=employs total value analysis approach, evaluating each purchase separately; 0 = use of specification buying. Sort the entire Hatco data set based on Specification Buying. This will create two separate groups of records. Those records with X11 = 0 and...

To measure profitability, La Quinta used operating margin, which is the ratio of the sum profit, depreciation, and interest expenses divided by total revenue. The ratio is expressed in percent form, meaning that it could theoretically take on any value between 0 and 100, with a higher value indicating greater profitability. La Quinta defines profitable inns as those with an operating margin in excess of 50 percent; unprofitable inns are those with margins of less than 30 percent. After a...
