Women, on the other hand, are typically employed in services such as health care and education, which are considered more recession resistant. A sample of 175 men and a sample of 140 women were drawn. Eighteen in the group of men were unemployed; 12 in the group of women were unemployed.
a. Perform a hypothesis test using critical values with α = 0.05 to determine if the unemployment rate for men is higher than the rate for women.




b. Determine the p-value and interpret the results.





c. Construct a 95% confidence interval around these sample data.
