1. a) Which distribution is more skewed, Uniform or Exponential? Explain how you know. Also explain why it is important to understand skew when performing hypothesis tests.
b) If the confidence interval contains the hypothesized value of the population parameter, what do we know about the p-value?
1.a. Exponential distribution is more skewed ( lack of symmetry) than uniform distribution.
Reason :We know that for uniform distribution probability is same for any points and it is symmetric distribution in other hand exponential distribution is not symmtric distribution .
B)If the confidence interval contains the hypothesized value of the population parameter
Which means we do not reject the null hypothesis, so p- value must be greater than level of significane.( usually we take = 0.01 or 0.05)
Thank you !
