1)chi-square test is used in testing hypothesis and is not useful for estimation.

2)chi-square test can be applied to complex contingency table with different classes.

3)chi-square test has a property, that is very useful to us.

"If a number of sample studies are conducted in the same field,the results can be pooled together.

This means chi-square values can be added. This property is called additive property.

4)Although test is conducted in terms of frequencies it can be best viewed conceptually as a test about proportions.
